More information about sterile compounding

Sterile compounding is the process of preparing medications in a sterile environment to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. It is a critical component of healthcare, especially in hospitals and other medical facilities. Certification in IV sterile compounding is increasingly becoming common and required by employers in most states.

It is, therefore, essential to ensure that pharmacy technicians who are responsible for compounding IV medications have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform this task safely and accurately.

The certifications mentioned above are ACPE accredited and recognized by the PTCB and importantly by employers who require IV certification. This certification is highly valued in the industry and can open up numerous career opportunities for those who hold it.
